hey there sweet ones that read my blog! I thought I would actually post something...it's been a while! We have finished school, Yea!!! And had VBS. I taught the 3 and 4 year olds. What a sweet, yet super tiring age! Every day I came home and took a nap. And this week my oldest 4 are at VBS at my mama's church, so what a fun break for me. I have been busy sewing up things too. There are a few days left in June and I plan to finish up some stuff this week. I didn't take pictures of most of what I made. Why do I do that? I mean really, I forget. Here's my list: 9 patchwork potholders (stayed up til 4am the night before the last day of school getting that done!), 2 patchwork baby blankets, 1 patchwork table runner, 1 birthday shirt for C's bday, and 1 pincusion for Jennifer who moved away :( (I think she may need some potholders too though :) ).


Whenever I spend time sewing during the day, T and C are here. And I won't tell you about how my sewing sometimes means too much tv, which is admittedly a problem. So I do try to do most my sewing at night. Well, one day they were in the sewing area with me and wanted to make something. So this is the something we made, little toy pillows, hand embroidered by them. They love these little things, so sweet.


The next day, I found these two scantily clad ladies in my thread basket. I also won't tell you how all our polly pockets generally go around indecent like this!


ps. my new header photo was taken by T. He actually captured both of those with the "claw" at Wal-Mart. Truly it's like gambling for kids. Just a couple of wins and your hooked...he's wasted a ton of his quarters at that thing!

H is officially 9 months old. He is the sweetest little fella, and do we ever love him. His little self has grown so fast, I mean he's gonna be one before we know it! Part of me looks forward to his getting older and "freeing" me up a little, but part of me doesn't want him to do any growing any time soon! I guess that's every mama's heart. Babies are such a dear thing, though the work is hard. Especially when you have older children going here and there, and the little ones to tend to at the same time. But on that note, it is so sweet to have older children and little babies at the same time. There is just something so wonderful to see your older "babies" holding and loving the baby. So here's to Hutton during his brief moment of babyhood, what a cutie pie he is!


And I wanted to mention a new blog on my list Saidos de Concha. I found her through another flickr group called "patchwork your life". Well, she is from Portugal, lives in England now, speaks 3 languages, just got back from a trip to Paris, and has a beautiful blog. I mean, wow....WOW! Who doesn't want that life?! Not to say that I don't love mine of course. But I am so enjoying reading about hers. And all of us need a little practice trying not to covet, right?

ps. that last sentence was so theologically incorrect, and is only used to serve a humorous purpose.

Granmere's pillow

This is Granmere's (joseph's dear mama) mother's day gift. I was a little late getting it to her, but she loved it all the same. I just love making things for her, she always appreciates it so much. We visited this past weekend and she sent us home with squash, tomatoes, potatoes, etc, from her garden. The children love it there, on Tuesday morning I overheard T telling C, "why did mama make us leave Granmere's?" I just smiled.



My mother was the recipient of this. I already "showed it off" but didn't want to say who it was for til I finished Granmere's. It is always, always a joy making for others!


And I have a big list of makin' to do right now. I love it...teacher gifts, graduation, birthdays, baby gifts. My list is a tiny bit overwhelming, but I love, love sitting down (whenever I can!) and working on all these things. So I hope within this month I will knock out my list and have it all recorded here by the first of July...we shall see!
